“We chose to work with tourism to complement our historical sources of income from agriculture or handicrafts; but with our own offering, planned to strengthen our management and self-management. Improving the quality of life in our communities, our natural heritage, our cultural identity and ownership of the community. ”
The Rural Community-based Tourism Network, an agricultural cooperative, handicraft and rural tourism services producers; managed and administered by 50 families (all small farmers) in 12 different communities. Its territory extends to the heart of the #VallesCalchaquíes between Angastaco and Cafayate in the south of the state of Salta.
Members of the Rural #communitybasedtourism Cooperative of the #CalchaquiValley define it as a form of tourism where they, smallholders, are the protagonists of the activity. That`s where the traveller becomes a partner who seeks to live a real cultural exchange, when the person is part of them and share the daily activities and community life of the family. From that, the visitors will really appreciate their customs, identity, productive diversity, gastronomy and landscape in the context of a friendly relationship with mutual respect and care.
